Sheep Chase II

After finishing the book, my brain can't function anymore. The whole story itself was hard to try to wrap my mind around, but the ending was even worse. Although the whole thing did keep me guessing through out the book. I think that boku was one of the most interesting characters that i have seen in a story for a long, long time.


I really like the story and i want to find out other books that murakami has written and check them out too.

Sheep Chase

wow i think book has to be the most far off the wall story that i have ever read. i really like the way murakami wrote the book and how he structured the story and how boku slowly starts to lose his mind in the book, yet he is in control of it. The weirdest part of the book to me was the part about the whales penis. I really didn't see the relevance in adding that, but hey i guess it's his story and he can write it however he wants.

I also liked the fact that he turned in a detective story because of the whole big boss and henchmen type deal and how he has to find the sheep in order to make everything right.

Rushdie

I think that rushdie was a very creative author when it came to writing and composing his literature. Although he may have a price on his head for what the government thinks was "satanic verses" i think in all honesty it was just his opinions of how he saw the world, and i think that they went a little overkill by putting a price on his head. However, i know that the country he comes from does not have the same ideals as we do such as free speech, so they aren't doing anything wrong. Personally, i think that the people have no sense of humor or any concept of satire.

When rushdie wrote Haroun, i think he basically mirrored the world he lived in and try to show the humor and seriousness in the whole story. I did have a hard time following the story, even though i'm a huge fan of fantasy stories, this one was way over my head to try to follow.
